Chapter Three: Fake Votes</div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: orange;">The Tyrant</span> was not happy. The media kept misreporting the alternative facts. They kept saying 5.6 million more people voted for his opponent than voted for him. He knew the truth. He kept telling them the truth. His media representative kept telling them the truth. The media kept reporting the lies and not the alternative facts that supported <span style="color: orange;">The Tyrant's</span> version of reality.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The alternative fact was simple: 5.6 million, at a minimum, fake votes were cast. There was no other explanation as to why his opponent received so many other votes. Everybody in the country LOVED him. He was WORSHIPPED by the masses.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
He had decided - while Chirping away at 3 AM - that a full investigation into the fake votes needed to be started immediately, at a cost to the citizens and not the government. The Universe must understand that millions upon millions of people did not vote against him. Still, he was thankful for the archaic system that should - but luckily wasn't - have been voided centuries ago was still in existence. If not for that archaic system, his opponent would have won.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

Chapter Two: Mrs. Deplorable Tyrant</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: orange;">Mrs. Deplorable Tyrant</span> (hereafter known as <span style="color: orange;">Mrs. Tyrant</span>) lay in bed pretending to sleep. Her husband, <span style="color: orange;">The Tyrant</span>, was angrily Chirping away at all the people he believed were his enemies . . . which was pretty much everyone in the country, though he refused to admit such an obvious fact. She knew she would have to endure his presence in his bed . . . tonight at least. It was getting more difficult year after year to pretend he wasn't old, fat, and an incredibly bad lover. She always kept her eyes closed. She had opened them once - seen his horrible face - and almost screamed out in fright. Luckily, besides being beautiful, she was a good actress. He never suspected that she couldn't stand him.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
He had always been a means to an end: citizenship and money. She would endure what she must to stay in this country . . . even sex with <span style="color: orange;">The Tyrant</span> once per month as agreed upon in their pre-nuptial agreement. Of course, it had been more often in the beginning. She had to get pregnant. His little swimmers weren't so hearty any longer, and it took much longer than she planned. Still, she had a beautiful child who was well worth the misery she endured having sex with <span style="color: orange;">The Tyrant</span>.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
He finally came to bed. She pretended to be asleep. She had endured enough today, and in the last few months. She wasn't sure she could endure his feeble attempts at love-making and the question he always inevitably asked: Wasn't that the best EVER?? He always seemed to emphasize the word EVER.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Soon, she heard the sounds of his snoring. She smiled slightly and drifted off to sleep. She dreamed of attending his funeral and the looks on his children's (by other wives) faces as they learned he disinherited every last one of them.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Note: <span style="color: orange;">The Tyrant</span> and <span style="color: orange;">Mrs. Tyrant</span> are purely fictional characters and any resemblance to a living or deceased individual is purely coincidental. #COINCIDENTAL</div>

Chapter One: Day One of the Apocalypse</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
January 20, 2017, a day that will live in infamy . . . and not in a good way. The<span style="color: orange;"> Deplorable Tyrant </span>(hereafter referred to as just <span style="color: orange;">The Tyrant</span>) took his oath of office and ascended his gilded throne. Okay, it wasn't a gilded throne when he took his oath of office, nor did previous occupiers of the office ascend anything, but this is <span style="color: orange;">The Tyrant </span>we are talking about. Within 37 seconds of taking the oath of office - before giving a very bad speech full of bull shit - workers went into his office, built a podium, put his chair on it and spray-painted it gold. One worker was heard to mumble <i>Hope the paints still wet when his hine-ass sits on it</i>. That worker disappeared and was never heard from again. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: orange;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: orange;">The Tyrant</span> didn't earn the moniker <i>deplorable </i>for nothing.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
As <span style="color: orange;">The Tyrant</span> stood before the very small crowds gathered to hear his speech that went something like this - Blah, blah, blah, I am <span style="color: orange;">The Tyrant</span> you will worship me, blah, blah, blah, Screw You, I'm in charge now, blah, blah, blah, blah - he noticed one thing: the crowd was very, very small. It was nothing like the crowd gathered to witness the oath of office of his predecessor. He knew then that he would have to present <i>alternative facts</i>. He might even have to use pictures of the crowds gathered for his predecessor on his Chirp account. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
He was an expert at Chirping. He Chirped day and night, especially in the wee hours of the morning. He was really good at angry Chirping. He was the BEST Angry Chirper EVER.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
That evening, at one of the many balls held in his honor, he showed the world that white men really can't dance. Of course, <span style="color: orange;">The Tyrant</span> believed he was the Best dancer EVER! The small amount - way less than at the balls of his predecessors, unless you believe the <i>alternative facts</i> that <span style="color: orange;">The Tyrant</span> was planning on Chirping out later in the evening . . . in an angry manner, of course - of people gathered attempted to hide their smiles as <span style="color: orange;">The Tyrant</span> proved again and again and again that white men really can't dance.Well, that the white (not really, his skin had a strange cast to it, almost orangish in color, but not quite) man known as <span style="color: orange;">The Tyrant</span> couldn't dance.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In the wee morning of the hours as his young wife, who he knew married him for his money and so she could become a legal citizen of the country, lay sleeping, he began to Chirp:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
- BIGGEST CROWDS EVER today. #AMAZING - </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
- The ballrooms were filled to CAPACITY. #AMAZING -</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
- I put the other dancers to shame. #AMAZING - </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
- Can you believe those crowds this morning? #AMAZING -</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
- People complimented me on my dancing. #AMAZING -</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
- Can you believe the media is lying about the numbers attending my coronation . . . uh, swearing in ceremony? #UNBELIEVABLE -</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: orange;">The Tyrant </span>Chirped away for well over an hour. He finally lay down in bed next to his wife. Today was a special occasion after all. Normally, she slept in another room. Oh, she would have sex with him, but it was funny, her eyes were always closed. She never opened her eyes when they had sex. Perhaps he should command her to do so? He was the BEST looking man EVER and an AMAZING lover. She was lucky to be able to share her life with him . . . until she started to age or gain weight. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
She wasn't his first wife and wouldn't be his last. She was only a woman. She was disposable after all.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: orange;">The Tyrant </span>closed his eyes and fell asleep. He dreamed of the HUGE crowds witnessing his swearing in ceremony and heard the resounding applause that went on for almost an hour in the aftermath of his AMAZING speech. Even in his dreams, the alternative facts took precedence.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Note: <span style="color: orange;">The Tyrant</span> is a purely fictional character and any resemblance to a living or deceased individual is purely coincidental. #COINCIDENTAL</div>

Dear Donald Trump</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I didn't vote for you. I couldn't vote for you because of everything you seemed to represent during the election: racism, misogyny, and bigotry. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I want a country where everybody is treated equally under the law. I want a country where labels - Democrat, Republican, Christian, Atheist, Conservative, Liberal, Gay, Straight, etc. - do not define people. I want a country where none of the citizens are considered second class citizens based on their gender, the color of their skin, their sexual preference, their religion, their political affiliation, or anything. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
My rights - the rights of every single citizen of this country - are just as important as yours. All the respect and consideration you expect people to give you is exactly what I expect and deserve, and what every citizen should expect and deserve . . . and recive.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In your speech yesterday, you called for the unification of our country and said the following . . .</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="zn-body__paragraph" style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; background-color: #fefefe; box-sizing: border-box; color: #262626; font-family: CNN, "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, Utkal, sans-serif; font-size: 1.2rem; line-height: 1.66667; margin-bottom: 15px; margin-right: 0px;">
Now it is time for America to bind the wounds of division, have to get together. To all Republicans and Democrats and independents across this nation, I say it is time for us to come together as one united people.</div>
<div class="zn-body__read-all" style="background-color: #fefefe; box-sizing: border-box; color: #262626; font-family: CNN, "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, Utkal, sans-serif; font-size: 15px;">
<div class="zn-body__paragraph" style="-webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased; box-sizing: border-box; font-size: 1.2rem; line-height: 1.66667; margin-bottom: 15px; margin-right: 0px;">
It is time. I pledge to every citizen of our land that I will be President for all of Americans, and this is so important to me. For those who have chosen not to support me in the past, of which there were a few people, I'm reaching out to you for your guidance and your help so that we can work together and unify our great country.</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
What I want to know? What are you going to do to protect my equal rights under the laws of the country? How are you going to unite us if you plan - as you have stated - to roll back marriage equality? How are you a "president for all of Americans" if you sign the First Amendment Defense Act (which allows for open discrimination of members of the LGBT Community based on alleged religious freedoms - more on that later) into law? In both instances, your actions would not unify this country. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
You also stated the following . . .</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="background-color: #fefefe; color: #262626; font-family: CNN, "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, Utkal, sans-serif; font-size: 18px; text-align: start;">Nothing we want for our future is beyond our reach.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Actually, you're wrong about that if you do either of the things I mentioned above. Because if you do those things, the future of my marriage to my husband is quite possibly beyond my reach. The future marriages of same-sex couples across this great nation might be beyond their reach if you do either of the things I mentioned above.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="background-color: #fefefe; color: #262626; font-family: CNN, "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, Utkal, sans-serif; font-size: 18px; text-align: start;">We will seek common ground, not hostility; partnership, not conflict.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Again, to roll back marriage equality and to allow open discrimination of members of the LGBT Community does not seek "common ground" and it actually creates "hostility". "Partnership" cannot exist, and all that will leave is "conflict" if you strip away the right to marry granted to same-sex couples on that momentous day in 2015.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Then, there is the fact that your vice president is a known bigot and very anti-gay. He claims to be a Christian, but, sorry, not something he has ever evidenced with his behavior. He wants to strip away my right to equal protection under the law. He wants to deny my marriage to my husband.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I've been with Frank for 22 years. In 2014 we were legally married according to the laws of the State of Delaware. Unfortunately, Tennessee, where we live, didn't honor or recognize our marriage . . . until the Supreme Court ruling on June 26, 2015 which made them recognize our marriage.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
To be honest - my relationship has lasted longer than any of your marriages. I'm not judging. If something is not working, and it can't be fixed, I believe people should move on. I do not believe people should stay in a marriage/relationship that is not working. Sometimes, the best thing people can do is walk away from a relationship. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I do not believe that people misinterpreting the bible to justify their discrimination towards others, and make them feel all warm and fuzzy about their bigotry, have the right to say Frank and I can't get married. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
With all that said: how are you going to protect me, a United States citizen (whose family has been in this country since the mid-1600s) from the bigotry of others? Of the bigotry of your own chosen vice president? Are you going to strip away my equal rights and make me a second class citizen? Are you going to help promote discrimination based on personal beliefs hidden behind the phrase "religious freedoms"? Neither God nor Jesus ever said anything about homosexuality. Now, the followers of God and Jesus - humans, flawed individuals with personal biases, said an awfully lot about homosexuality . . . Well, we really don't know if they did, or if those parts were added to the Bible. You see, President-Elect Trump, nobody knows what was actually in the original documents because they haven't existed for centuries. All we have are copies of copies of copies, some so badly damaged that in the copying process the clerks/monks/whoever actually had to guess at words. Then, there was the fact that when translating the words, no known equal word existed, so the clerk/monk/whoever just put the word they thought it should mean in it's place.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So, as you can see, the Bible has been shaped by the personal biases of men who were not perfect in any way. Their word does not count above God or Jesus, no matter what the misguided faux-Christians would like the world to believe. God and Jesus did not speak out about homosexuality, so what gives men like your vice president Mike Pence the right to impose his will upon the people of our once great nation.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
We have fallen far, President-Elect Trump, as you so clearly pointed out in your campaign. We will fall farther still if laws are passed that directly support discrimination toward law-abiding, tax-paying citizens of this country, many of whom have been in this country since not long after it's founding.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So, President-Elect Trump, as you plot the course of the next few years, please remember you represent not only the people that voted for you, but also for those that voted against you as well. Your job is not to govern only the Republicans or the alleged Conservatives, but all the people of the United States.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So, again, my simple question is: what are you going to do to protect the rights of the LGBT citizens of the United States? Will you allow your Vice President to attack us? Will you support his attacks on us? Will you allow open discrimination against us? How many more transgendered individuals have to die before someone acts? How many more LGBT teens have to be bullied into suicide before someone will act? How many deaths will you have on your hands if you allow the reign of terror against the LGBT community that has been ongoing for centuries?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
When you were elected, and my friends were in despair, I told them this: we must hold onto hope, we must be the light in the darkness. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
As much as I do not like what you seem to represent, I'm a fool who believes that there is good in all people. I could be delusional, for all I know, in thinking that there is good in you and that you won't strip away the equality the members of the LGBT community have fought for for centuries. Your choice of Mike Pence doesn't make me feel all warm and fuzzy, but . . . I still hope that you, as President of the United States, will respect every single citizen of this country, and will not go out of your way to openly harm them, or allow others in this country to openly harm or discriminate against them.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
As hard as it is for me to say this, I wish you the best of luck as President of the United States. I hope you can unify our country; that Democrats and Republicans can actually work together, for the best interest of the country as a whole, instead of against each other; and that the hostility and conflict of the pre-election period are at an end.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And, if you really want help or guidance, if you really care about the millions upon millions of members of the LGBT Community . . . well, you now know how to contact me. I'd be glad to help.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Sincerely,</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Scott Mitchell</div>

In this polarizing election, one question has come to mind: Have American's sacrificed their humanity for the sake of a label, i.e., Democrat/Republican?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
If Donald Trump was a Democrat and did/said what he has done/said . . . he wouldn't have received the party's nomination.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
If Donald Trump was a black man and did/said what he has done/said . . . he wouldn't have received the party's nomination.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But, because he is a white man . . . Republicans fall in line and endorse a man who represents the worst characteristics of human society.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
He's (allegedly) a narcissist.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
He's (allegedly) a misogynist.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
He's (allegedly) racist.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
He's (allegedly) a pathological liar.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
He (allegedly) has the temperament of a six-year-old.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
He has openly boasted about sexually assaulting women and grabbing them by their genitals. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
He has looked at a ten-year-old girl and said, "Oh, I'll probably date her in ten years". Any other man would have been accused of pedophilia at that point, but not Donald Trump.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Hillary isn't much better. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Yes, she's lied (so has every other politician). </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
She deleted 33,000 emails (Bush, Rove, and pals deleted 22 million plus emails - no outrage from Republicans on that one, now was there).</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Donald Trump should never have received the nomination or made it this far. The mere fact that Republicans are endorsing this man is clear evidence that they have sacrificed their humanity. It's more important for them to be a Republican, than a human.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In America, every 109 seconds someone is sexually assaulted (more women than men).</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Every 8 minutes, the person being assaulted is a child.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Most people know someone who has been sexually assaulted, but they might not know that person was sexually assaulted because . . .</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
. . . a high percentage of rapes/sexual assaults are never reported.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So, we have a presidential candidate who boasts about sexually assaulting women and . . . the majority of Republicans in office continue to endorse him and/or vote for him. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
WTF? </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Oh, they might reprimand their teen-age sons if they heard them use such language (Diane Black and Marsha Blackburn - Republicans from TN), but they're still going to endorse and vote for Donald Trump!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Again . . . WTF???</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
At what point do you condone his language? How do you condone such language? Why would you condone such language and behavior?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Would all of these people supporting Donald Trump, be so generous with their support if . . . it was a 50-year-old black man doing/saying these things? A homeless man? An illegal immigrant? A democrat?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The sad answer is . . . NO. The man would be fair game for their hate and outrage . . . because he's not a Republican.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Note, I'm not saying Democrats are any better. I'm just saying that to vote for this man, to endorse him in any way, is to support his narcissism, his misogyny, his racism, his pathological lying, and his boasting about sexually assaulting women! </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
No matter what else Donald has done, his casual disregard for sexual assault, his idea that it is <i>locker room talk</i> is the main reason I can't vote for the man. I'd vote for Satan before I'd vote for him.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
A vote for him sends a clear message to every citizen in this country, especially the men: it's okay to disrespect women, it's okay to be racist, it's okay to boast about sexually assaulting women, it's okay, it's okay, it's okay.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It is not okay and, in my mind, there is no justification at all in endorsing and/or voting for a man who has so little respect for people, especially women, and casually banters about sexually assaulting women. My humanity means more to me than that. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Our society has - unfortunately - reached the point where, for a label, a political affiliation, there is absolutely nothing a candidate can say/do that would cause members of their party not to vote for him.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But next time a woman, while unconscious, is raped and her rapist is only given six months in jail, please, all those voting for Trump, don't be outraged and claim it's a miscarriage of justice because . . . your endorsement and vote for Donald Trump shows that you really don't care. Sad, but true.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

So I've been thinking a lot about the Pope since his <i>secret</i> meeting with Kim Davis that showed he supports intolerance over love and acceptance and . . .</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
. . . I've come to realize that the Pope is just a man in a fancy white robe. He's nothing special. He's human. He's fallible. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The Pope is a man, nothing more or less. His title means absolutely nothing.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
He's no more holy than me or anyone else on the face of the Earth.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Yes, the Catholic Church has - pretty much - crowned him their King . . . but he's not a king.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
He's no more elevated in life than the poorest peasant struggling for food. Oh, he has plenty to eat, and all his needs are taken care of, but that makes him lucky, and not special.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The Pope has shown that the Catholic Church, the ultimate leader of the Catholic Church, is no better than the meanest and intolerant bigot. There is no difference between the Pope and that bigot . . . other than that the Pope has a security detail.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Other than that, they're one and the same.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Really, this is not surprising. The Catholic Church has never been an all welcoming Church. They've always, like most churches, but not all, been intolerant. They, like the common, every day individual, have taken the Bible out of context to support their narrow minds. It's life. It's part and parcel of Churches from Baptist to Catholic to Muslim. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Still, to know the Pope speaketh with a forked tongue is a good thing. To know the Pope lies is a good thing. It takes him off this high pedestal and puts him down in the mud with everybody else. He isn't special. He isn't different. He's human. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It's sad, really, when the special is stripped away to reveal an intolerant individual who, just like a politician, says one thing but really means another. It's good that his secret meeting was revealed. It's good he was exposed for the hypocrite he is. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The world can move on knowing this allegedly holy man really isn't special at all.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So, thank you, Pope Francis, for revealing your true, intolerant nature. Thank you for letting the world know that you support and embrace intolerance and, just like so many others, don't have a clue about two passages in the Bible: thou shall not judge and love thy neighbor.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<br />
There's a saying - <i>actions speak louder than words. </i>You have more than lived up to that saying with your recent action of meeting with Kim Davis. It was bad enough that you openly supported her violation of US Law. She has a job to do. If she can't do her job, she should resign. It's that simple. But, you actively support her disobedience of US Law. You encourage her disobedience.<br />
<br />
If that weren't bad enough, you meet with this woman who claims to have deeply held religious beliefs. In that one moment of time, you demeaned millions of gay Christians, and their supporters. Your actions told those gay Christians that they don't matter to you at all. In that moment, you solidified and pronounced the continued intolerance - and non-Christian attitude - of the Catholic Church.<br />
<br />
I left the Catholic Church decades ago because of its intolerance. Your actions, and those of the Church have shown, time and again, that <i>love thy neighbor</i> is the one part of the Bible you are unwilling to follow.<br />
<br />
If I hadn't left decades ago, I would have left today upon hearing the news of your meeting with Kim Davis.<br />
<br />
You've shown her far more concern and compassion than you have shown the gay community. By meeting with her, you shouted - quite loudly, I might add - that all your words about accepting the members of the gay community were nothing more than lies. For to meet with a woman who has nothing but contempt for the gay community, who only has deeply held religious beliefs when it applies to the gay community, shows your contempt and intolerance for the gay community.<br />
<br />
I know you're not capable of understanding any of this. I know you're so lost in misinterpretation of religious dogma to fully understand that God made every single one of us. Every person is born the way God meant them to be born. Just as Kim Davis was born heterosexual, I was born homosexual. It's what God meant for my life. I guess he also meant for me, and others like me, to live in a world where we are bullied on a daily basis, where we are told that we matter less because of the way God made us, where we don't deserve equal protection under the law, and where even the Pope can openly show his intolerance for us and support those acting against us because the way we were born.<br />
<br />
I know you believe you were doing the right thing in supporting Kim Davis' intolerance. I know you believe she is doing the right thing in breaking the law to support her religious objections that only apply to same-sex couples. I believe otherwise. I believe your actions and stance on this issue are harmful towards the millions of gay Christians in the world. I believe all religious institutions that continue to misinterpret, and take out of context, the Bible to use it as a weapon are harmful to those of us God made gay.<br />
<br />
You probably disagree with this. It's your right. But before you support those who are intolerant, before you embrace them and encourage their intolerance, understand that their intolerance and your support of said intolerance is harmful.<br />
<br />
Perhaps one day, you'll fully understand the concept of <i>love thy neighbor</i>.<br />

Linda Harvey of Mission America needs a bit of education. In her latest efforts to undermine equal protection under the law, she has stated the following:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<ul>
<li>Homosexuality is not inborn - it's not like race - and the behavior is harmful to individuals and societies. These identities and attractions do not characterize separate types of "persons" (as the Obergefell majority ruling incorrectly assumed). So they are not defensible under the 14th Amendment.</li>
<li>Christianity is now a target to be obliterated or revised with homosexuality no longer a sin, humans no longer distinctly male and female, abortion a "right" for females and believers painted into a narrow doctrinal corner if we let them do this. <i>She means pass the Equality Act.</i></li>
</ul>
<div>
Linda Harvey - before you speak, you should really understand what you're talking about. Since you obviously don't have a clue, please let explain things to you.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
First - homosexuality is as inborn as your alleged heterosexuality. There is no choosing to be gay. It's Genetics 101 - you're either born straight, gay, or transgendered. It's how God intended, and it's how it is! </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Second - since homosexuality is inborn, i.e., part of the DNA of the individual, your statement that "these identities and attractions do not characterize separate types of 'persons' is totally false and without any merit whatsoever. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Third - your statement "not defensible under the 14th Amendment" is wrong as well. Perhaps you might want to go back to school and study law and Constitutional Law before making such a statement, since it is quite clear you a) don't understand the law and b) don't understand Constitutional Law. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Fourth - Christianity is not a target at all. There are Christians and faux-Christians. You can decide which category you fall into on your own, but, I can tell you, the one you pick for yourself is not accurate. The faux Christians - those misinterpreting the Bible to justify their hate and discrimination toward others - are the ones feeling threatened and targeted, when nobody really cares about them. The true Christians understand that we are all God's Children and that there are two main concepts in the Bible: Love thy Neighbor and Thou Shall Not Judge. I guess you, and those like you, missed class the day those two lessons were taught. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Your religious freedom, your right to misinterpret the Bible, is not being threatened in any way, shape or form. You can do that until the saints come marching in. You can - as you continually do, and your words in your most recent article do - demean and disrespect people all you like. It's your right. You can treat others exactly how you don't want to be treated. Again, it's your right. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
It is also, unfortunately, your right to put false (totally untrue) information out there as you thump your Bible with a staccato beat. Thump away, Ms. Harvey. But, the best thing you could really do is go out and get an education so you can actually understand what you're talking about. Because right now, you don't have a clue.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So, keep up your tirades - nothing will stop you anyhow - and your fiction about attacks and targets and all the other imaginary stuff you write about in your articles. It is after all, your right.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
But, my hope for you, Ms. Harvey, is that you are one day able to understand the concept of compassion and are able to treat people with respect, courtesy, and compassion. For that, Ms. Harvey,is what - to me - Christianity is all about.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The Golden Rule, Ms. Harvey, is to treat others how you want to be treated. God knows, if the LGBT Community treated you like you treat them, you'd have us all in court for mistreating you. Mull on that, Ms. Harvey, while you thump your Bible.</div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Religious Freedom is the right to practice your religion. End of Story! Period!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Religious Freedom does not give you the right to discriminate. Your personal beliefs give you that ability, not your religion. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Nowhere in the Bible does it state "thou shall discriminate" or "thou shall pick and choose to follow only the Biblical passages that you use to justify your discrimination". Those aren't parts of the Bible. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The fact that you feel comfortable taking the Bible out of context to justify your discrimination is quite sad. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Freedom of Religion, as defined by the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States means a person has the right to "practice his or her own religion, or no religion at all". The Free Exercise Clause of the First Amendment grants the right to "worship or not as you choose". </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Nowhere, not nowhere, no way, no how, in any way, shape or form and all that jazz, does the First Amendment state you can openly discriminate against an individual because of your religious beliefs.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
As noted above, the Bible does not state THOU SHALL DISCRIMINATE<i>! </i>It does state THOU SHALL NOT JUDGE, LEST YE BE JUDGED and LOVE THY NEIGHBOR.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
When you openly discriminate because of a false understanding of the words <i>religious freedom, </i>you are judging and you are not loving thy neighbor. And yes, whether you know it or not, you probably have a gay neighbor.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So, when you, perhaps as a county clerk in say, well, maybe . . . Kentucky, claim that issuing a marriage license to a same-sex couple goes against your religious beliefs, well, that's an outright lie. It goes against your personal beliefs.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Perhaps you should spend some time understanding the difference between personal and religious beliefs before standing up and proclaiming that doing your job is against your religious beliefs.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
On that note, divorce is mentioned in the Bible way more often than same-sex relations. Have you, oh say, said county clerk, in say, KY, or perhaps, a judge in say, well, maybe, let's see, OH, ever issued a marriage license to a divorced person and/or performed a marriage ceremony to a divorced person? Shouldn't that be against your religious beliefs? Why, yes, it should! I thought I'd answer the question for you since you're obviously having a hard time with understanding things right now!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So, dear, uninformed, faux Christians . . . please say it like it is, not how you wish it to be. Stand up, be proud, and be courageous and say: I personally don't believe in same-sex marriage and it has absolutely nothing to do with my freedom of religion, only with my own personal bias. Be proud when you state that you feel you're a superior person because you were born heterosexual rather than homosexual - btw, no choice, all genetics, not matter what you think - and feel that the equal protection clause should only apply to heterosexuals. Shout it from the mountaintops when you declare that only certain people deserve equal protection under the law. Do not hide behind <i>religious freedom</i> and use the Bible out of context to justify your contempt for your friends, neighbors, family, people you meet on the street or interact with on a daily basis. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
You have an absolute right to your opinions and personal beliefs. You have an absolute right to declare those opinions and personal beliefs. But the key here is <i>personal</i> and not <i>religious!</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So, next time, dear faux Christian, you want to use your religion not to perform your job or deny equal protection under the law to citizens of the United States of America, please do so honestly without claiming religion has anything to do with it . . . because it doesn't!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

Dear Bryan Fischer,</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Isn't it ironic when the words you use to describe others actually apply to yourself and your organization. On your radio program on Tuesday, June 23, 2015, you suggested - with a certain lack of knowledge, I might add - that the rainbow flag "represents the gay lobby, it represents Big Gay, it represents what I'm calling for the first time today, I'm introducing a new term the Gay Reich". The irony here is, that the term Christian Reich could be applied to you and your cohorts who exemplify bigotry while claiming it is "religious freedom". More on this topic in a bit since you obviously need a bit of education in your life.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
You state that the rainbow flag is a symbol of "slavery and oppression and bigotry and prejudice and bias". Again, the irony is that you yourself, and those like you, represent oppression and bigotry and bias". The only slavery involved is your slavery to out of context biblical passages to condemn a section of humanity while ignoring the passages that would condemn you and your cohorts.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The LGBT Community does not oppress others, unless you feel that asking for equal protection under the law is oppression.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The LGBT Community, for the most part, are not bigots. They do not have a problem with Christians. The problem is with the people claiming to be Christians who really aren't Christians. These are the people taking the Bible out of context, claiming "religious freedom" to openly discriminate against a section of the population. These are people, Mr. Fischer, just like yourself. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Religious Freedom is the freedom to practice your religion, not openly discriminate against people. The Bible does not state "thou shall discriminate". The Bible does state, and obviously you skipped over this passage, "thou shall not judge" and "love thy neighbor". It's sad, by your actions and your words, that you do judge and you do not love thy neighbor. It's sad that you, as an alleged heterosexual, feel you are more deserving of equal protection under the law, than your homosexual - born that way, not a choice - counterparts. It's sad you feel the need to use an offensive term related to mass genocide - Reich - to make yourself feel better, when the actions of oppression, bigotry and bias are clearly on your end, and not that of the LGBT Community, which wants one thing and one thing only: equal protection under the law as guaranteed by the United States Constitution!!!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So, the irony, Mr. Fisher, is that the words and actions you choose to toss at the LGBT Community actually apply to you, and not the LGBT Community.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Perhaps some time out of the spotlight to understand the meaning of compassion and respect would better suit you, rather than spouting your intolerance on the air when you obviously don't have a clue what you are talking about.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But, that would only happen in a perfect world. In this imperfect world we live in, a man like you has his own radio show, and has like-minded followers who don't have a clue that they words they are so easily tossing at others, actually apply to themselves.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So, I'll pray for you Mr. Fischer to one day truly know the meaning of the words compassion and respect. I'll pray that you never have to experience the intolerance and disrespect you push on others through your radio show and other mediums. I'll pray that you never have to experience unequal protection under the law, nor have to fight for equal protection under the law. I'll pray that you never have to experience discrimination or intolerance for how you were born, for how God made you. For you see, I don't wish any of what you wish upon me, or those like me, onto others. I don't disrespect you because you're an alleged Christian. I do feel sorry for you that you have not come to realize the true meaning of Christianity, or understand that you, and those like you, taking the Bible out of context, are failing in the teachings of Christ. You'll have to come to that realization on you on.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In the meantime, blessings upon you Mr. Fischer.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

The first thing that amazes me about you is the name of your organization: One Million Moms! That's a falsehood right from the start. You might want to consider a more accurate title for your organization. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Second - your main goal seems to be to call out organizations that don't gel with your belief system, as if your belief system is the only correct belief system on this planet.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I hate to break it to you: One Million Moms does not have exclusivity to a singular belief system for the planet.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Third - you outright lied on your site in regards to the recent legislation passed in IN. You stated "<span style="background-color: white; color: #555555; font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 30px;">The Indiana law is identical in all fundamental respects to the 1993 federal RFRA signed into law by President Bill Clinton after it passed the U.S. House unanimously and the Senate 97-3".</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
If you had bothered to actually do some research, you would have known that the Indiana law has some marked differences from the 1993 Federal (the word is capitalized, btw) RFRA signed into law. You can do some Googling on your own and discover this for yourself and . . . delete the lie from your site. I mean, you hold everyone else to these high expectations you've established for your organization, so one would think you would adhere to those same standards. It will be quite interesting to see if you do.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
If you don't . . . a suggested word of the day might be "hypocrite", but that's only a suggestion. I always find a word of the day helpful in building my vocabulary.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I also take issue with the fact that you think Jesus could not have been black. Have you met him? Were you around back in the day? Or, are you basing your opinion on the representations passed down by a white society that oppressed all other races? If so, you might want to read the Bible where it actually gives a description of a Jesus . . . who is not lily white with straight hair. Just a thought.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Another thing you're obviously not aware of . . . the Bible does not say "thou shall discriminate". Jesus ate with prisoners and prostitutes and lepers. He didn't judge. You might want to try following his example. Your lives - the few number of you in the organization - might be enriched.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
If you treat people less than how you are expect to be treated . . . that's wrong.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
As much as I personally dislike your views and your, in my opinion, narrow minded belief system, if I met you on the street I would treat you with respect and courtesy. I would hope that you never have to face the hate and discrimination and bigotry that people within the LGBT community face on a daily basis. I would hope that you are not fired for the way you were born, the way God made you. I would hope you are not abandoned by your family because of the way you were born.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
You have obviously led a privileged life where you cannot understand discrimination in its rawest form. You can't understand how hateful and hurtful your words and disrespect are to a group of people that have had to fear for their lives in some instances . . .because of the way they were born.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Angie's List, no more so than anybody else, is anti-Christian, nor are they bigots, nor are any of the other people speaking out against the intolerance of the law IN just passed. They are compassionate human beings who believe that all people deserve equal treatment under the law. Can you say the same thing about yourselves? </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Well, no, you can't . . . because your words indicate a decided lack of compassion on your part. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It's sad that an organization like yours exists in the first place. It's sad that your goal in life is to claim superiority over other people.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
BTW - I used the link on your site to email Angie's list and applaud them for their efforts. I also encouraged all my friends and family to do the same. So, your site actually served a better purpose than you probably intended.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And, again, I hope you have a better life than the one you've wished upon and are supporting for the members of the LGBT community.</div>

With the recent passage of Indiana's "Religious Freedom" bill . . . it seems as if the world has gone INSANE!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
My thoughts on this are simple: religious freedom does not give anybody the right to discriminate.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The Bible does not state "thou shall discriminate"!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
When people argue their religious convictions in order to discriminate, in my personal opinion, they are using the terms "religious convictions" and "religious freedoms" to excuse their bigotry.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It's that simple. No length explanations or excuses are needed.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
These are the same people who won't answer the question "what would Jesus do?" because they know . . . he wouldn't be doing what they're doing: discriminating based on their own personal biases.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So, when someone complains that their religious freedoms are being infringed upon by having to serve members of the LGBT community . . .</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
That's a lie they are using to condone their own bigotry.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The lovely (and I use that term in the most sarcastic way possible) Governor of IN could not answer a simple yes/no question on <u>This Week with George Stephanopolus</u>: click here http://goo.gl/v5opHu for a good article about that interview.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
After repeatedly trying to get an answer, George posed this question:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #333333; font-family: NeueHaasGroteskTextPro-55Roman, 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16.0000400543213px; line-height: 24.0000591278076px; text-align: start;">“So when you say tolerance is a two way street, does that mean that Christians who want to refuse service … to gays and lesbians, that it’s now legal in the state of Indiana? That’s the simple yes-or-no question.”</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #333333; font-family: NeueHaasGroteskTextPro-55Roman, 'Helvetica Neue', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 16.0000400543213px; line-height: 24.0000591278076px; text-align: start;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And, again, Governor Pence refused to answer!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Governor Pence continues to try to justify the bill he signed into law, continually saying it has nothing to do with discrimination . . . and yet now feels the need to clarify that law. If discrimination wasn't involved in the crafting of the law, then why should clarification be needed.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The fact is, neither the Governor or the IN government members voting this law into existence, counted on the backlash IN has received, and continues to receive.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The fact is, if the law wasn't about discrimination, why were these three people included to witness the private signing: Micah Clark, Curt Smith and Eric Miller.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In order of appearance . . . </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Micah Clark . . . believes "homosexuality is a treatable disorder".</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Curt Smith . . . equates "homosexuality with bestiality and adultery".</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Eric Miller . . . "distributed a fear flier falsely claiming that pastors could be jailed for preaching against homosexuality".</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Click on this link http://goo.gl/BhVzpi for more on these three.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The people you surround yourself with, Governor Pence, show a lot about you as a person! Just sayin' . . .</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So, while people will use the terms "religious convictions" and "religious freedoms" as a way of justifying their discrimination, please remember that the Bible does not justify discrimination.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I understand it took a bit, but . . . you're finally on the right side of history. Congratulations. I know it was a long battle for you, (allegedly) standing up for the beliefs of your political party, versus the best interests of citizens of Florida. I know it took an amazing amount of court losses - shouldn't you, as the Attorney General for FL be able to win a case or two? You might not want these losses on your resume - for you to realize that you were fighting a losing battle. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I know this victory for the gay citizens of FL is actually a bitter defeat for you. I'm sorry that you feel that way. I'm sorry that your compassion and best interests for the citizens of FL only extends to the narrow-minded and heterosexual citizens of FL. I'm sorry that you feel that only heterosexual citizens of FL deserve equal protection under the law.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Perhaps, with that attitude, you might want to consider a career change. I mean, after all, isn't the well-being of every citizen of FL part of your job description? Is there some fine print in your contract that states you only defend the rights of heterosexual citizens of FL? Is there some more fine print that says you personally get to pick and choose that only certain citizens of FL deserve equal protection under the law? </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
If not, it sure seems that way.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Okay, I know that, in order to get elected (allegedly) you had to maintain your stance against same sex marriage. I get it. Had you shown support - the morally correct option - for same-sex marriage, there was a good chance you would not get re-elected. It's quite obvious, at least to me, that your career trumps doing the right thing. It's okay, many Republicans are just like you. In fact, they no longer refer to the GOP as the Grand Old Party. It's now the Gay Oppression Party, and your actions are one of the reasons that new name applies.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But, all of that aside, SCOTUS smacking you down, as other courts have time and time and time and time and (well, this would be a really long post if I listed every time a court smacked you down) time again was the ultimate moment when you did what was actually right. Okay, your hand was forced and you probably really, really, really did not want to do it, but . . . you did.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I applaud, though only very softly, your courage - for yes, it took courage for you to finally do, at least in my mind, the right thing - to say you would no longer fight against same-sex marriage.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Here is my hope for you, Ms. Bondi: that you never have to experience what you put same-sex couples through. May you not have your fate decided by one person. May you not have to fight and fight and fight for what you know is right, only to have one single person fight against you and say "you don't deserve equal protection under the law". May you not have one person's actions tell you that your love is not right or normal. May you not have to have your hopes dashed again and again and again . . . by one single person. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
You see, Ms. Bondi, even though you're a woman, you don't have a clue what it's like to be told, by people like you, that you don't matter. You don't know what it's like, after being with someone for 20 years, to be told "oh, I don't believe you should be able to marry". You don't know what it's like to have people - twice, three times, four times and more divorced - like you, spout off about traditional marriage. Traditional marriage is about life-long commitment. But, people like you, don't get that . . . but still, my hope for you, is that you don't have to experience such things.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
My ultimate hope for you, Ms. Bondi, is that one day, you'll be able to treat people how you expect to be treated, because, I certainly hope you don't expect to be treated with disrespect, or to be told you don't matter.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />For that, Ms. Bondi, is how you have treated the gay community of FL!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

The most current trend, in the wake of the deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Garner, is to protest with signs that read: Black Lives Matter!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is offensive because . . . </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
. . . All Lives Matter!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Day after day, across this country, people of all colors all killed. Day after Day! Each of those lives mattered, but, according to the current protesters . . . only Black Lives Matter!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In New York City, two policemen were brutally murdered by a black man . . . in response to the death of Michael Brown. Their lives mattered just as much as every other person who has been the victim of a violent death. Their lives do not matter less than Michael Brown or Eric Garner or Trayvon Martin or anyone else senselessly killed.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
ALL </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
LIVES</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
MATTER</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The fact that the people - some of them only, in my opinion, out for their 15 minutes of fame - don't get the fact that All Lives Matter is absolutely amazing. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Where are these same people when a white man, an Asian woman, a Latino person are violently gunned down by somebody? Why aren't they protesting those deaths? Why aren't they protesting the brutal murders of the two NYC police offers? </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The fact is . . .</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
ALL</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
LIVES</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
MATTER</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
. . . and the country should be protesting ALL LIVES lost, and not just the black lives lost.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Yes, what happened to Michael Brown and Eric Garner is wrong. Their lives mattered! There should be outrage, but . . .</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
. . . that same outrage should apply to every individual killed by an act of violence.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
To say that all those other lives - which the actions of the protesters chanting, hash-tagging Black Lives Matter seem to indicate - shows a remarkable lack of compassion and humanity on the parts of the protesters!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So, perhaps all these protesters need to scratch out "Black" and hold up signs, chant and hash-tag that "Lives Matter". Perhaps then, just maybe, your protests will have a little bit more meaning to them.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Just my thoughts!!! </div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">

Recently, Renee Zellweger appeared at some event looking remarkably different. Now, all the news outlets are posting a picture of her from about 15 years ago alongside the current picture of her.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
HELLO! Of course somebody is going to change in appearance from 15 years ago. Not to mention . . . the lighting is different, the angle is different, she's lost weight, she's smiling differently . . . and so many other things. So . . .</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
HELOO! Of course she looks different.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But, alas, that's not the point of this post. The point is the negative - she looks horrible, she's Jennifer Grey 2.0, why has she let herself go - comments.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Why do people feel the need to toss negative comments out? Why do they feel the Internet gives them free reign to be hateful/negative towards people . . . they don't even know? </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So Renee looks different. She's healthy. She's happy. That's should be the beginning, middle and end of the story, except . . .</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
. . . the people who just feel the need to disparage people they don't know.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Hopefully, Renee doesn't read the comments. She's heard about them, though, and her response . . . I'm happy and healthy. Good for her.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So, my comment to people that feel the need to be so hateful/negative towards people you don't know: get a life. Look in your own mirror and tell yourself . . .</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>OMG, I look hideous!</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>I look horrible!</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Plastic surgery gone bad!</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>I'm Jennifer Grey 2.0!</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Or, better yet, post a picture of yourself and let others post negative and hateful comments about that picture and . . .</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
. . . see how you feel! </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Silence is golden and . . .</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
. . . if you can't comment something nice, why not try not commenting at all. The world might just be a better place.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

I'm sorry you're having such a hard time finding compassion toward your fellow men/women. I'm sorry you feel it's okay to deny equal protection under the law - as guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States of America - to citizens of the United States of America. I'm sorry you feel that only select citizens - i.e., the heterosexual ones - deserve equal protection under the law. I'm sorry that hatred of others seems a constant part of your life. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
As for me, I believe that all people should be treated with respect and consideration - something you seem incapable of doing, as evidenced by all your spotlight appearances on television - and not just a select few. I do not believe - again, unlike you - that people should be allowed to vote on constitutional - state or otherwise - amendments that openly discriminate toward one section of the population. I do not believe that being male and heterosexual makes you, or people like you (and this applies to your female counterparts) any better than the next person. To believe that it does make you better than somebody else is an elitist - you might want to look that word up since you obviously don't understand the meaning - attitude that has no place in politics or society.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Speaking of politics, I'm sorry you've sold your soul and sacrificed parts of yourself to be a Republican. It's a shame that your are obviously unable to think for yourself. It's a shame that, rather than treat people with respect and dignity, you'd rather demean and debase yourself to get votes. I guess that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy at the end of the day. But, like other politicians, it's part and parcel of the job. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I'm sorry you've lost your way in this world and feel it's necessary to inflict your hate and prejudice on other people. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I know my words can't make you understand how little of Christianity or human kindness you've failed to understand. I know my words will have no impact at all upon you. But, that's okay . . . I'll still pray for you. I'll still hope - because, unlike you, I look for the best in people - that maybe, one day you'll be able to step away from your hate and bigotry, your disrespect for those within the gay community, and understand that you should treat people how you want to be treated . . . with respect and consideration, with human kindness, and with love and acceptance. None of us were born, or will ever be, perfect, Mr. Cruz. We're human. We have human failings. But the greatest gift we humans have, whether heterosexual or homosexual, is the capacity to treat others as we want to be treated. Maybe one day you'll learn that lesson. Until that time, I'll add you into my prayers and pray that day comes sooner for you, rather than later.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Best wishes, Mr. Cruz, in all you do!</div>

Things that offend me as a gay man . . .</div>
<br />
<ul>
<li style="text-align: justify;">Saying to people <i>well I have a gay friend</i> - just because you have a gay friend(s) does not make you any less homophobic. A certain Senator believes in reparative therapy (i.e., turning a gay person straight) and yet likes to spout off that she has "gay friends". Pity her poor friends that happen to be gay . . . and the fact that she so blatantly disrespects them. </li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">Hearing people say my being gay is a <i>choice</i> - no, it's not. How many people do you know who would willing choose to have people call them names - faggot, queer, co#%$ucker, sodomite, et al? Or, <i>choose</i> to be blatantly discriminated against, bullied, oppressed, and . . . so much other crap I sometimes think I might have a stroke from reading all the ignorant comments people make when they attempt to defend their homophobia and bigotry? My homosexuality is just like your heterosexuality - it's how God made me, DNA! I didn't <i>choose</i> anything, just as you heterosexuals didn't choose to be heterosexual.</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">Calling my being gay a <i>lifestyle</i> - it's not a lifestyle, people, it's how God made me, DNA!! Is your being straight a <i>lifestyle</i>? Of course not, so don't disrespect me, or any gay man, women, transgender person, by using that term. It's my life, end of discussion. The only style is my snappy dressing!</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">Assuming all gay men are effeminate or all lesbians are masculine. Hate to disappoint, but . . . my people came in all shapes, sizes, colors, femininity and masculinity. </li>
</ul>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I could go on and on and on, but these are the top four, at least for today!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Seriously, people, get a clue when you toss these things out in your misguided hate and bigotry. Your words are offensive and disrespectful. Oh, and stop wielding the Bible as a weapon and stop taking it out of context to support your narrow-mindedness and bigotry. The Bible was never intended to be a) used as a weapon or b) taken out of context. So, quit doing it! </div>

The "blood moon" which occurred in the early hours of this morning, just after midnight is a total eclipse of the moon, not to be mistaken with Bonnie Tyler's <i>Total Eclipse of the Heart</i>! Some, i.e., religious zealots hoping to make a profit, would like people to believe that the blood moon is a sign of the End of Days because of this line out of Joel 2:31: <i>The sun will be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood before the great and dreadful day of the LORD comes</i>.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
First off, this description applies to a total eclipse of the moon or the sun.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Second off - if this were true, then the End of Days should have happened . . .</div>
<br />
<ul>
<li style="text-align: justify;">162 - 163 </li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">795 - 796 </li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">842 - 843 </li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">860 - 861 </li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">1493 - 1494 </li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">1949 - 1950</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">1967 - 1968</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">2003 - 2004</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;">2014 - 2015</li>
</ul>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And these are only the <i>blood moons</i>, more commonly known as a lunar tetrad, that have occurred during the Jewish feasts of Passover and Tabernacles. This doesn't count, the 52 others that have previously occurred and . . .</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
. . . the End of Days hasn't happened.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So, that lovely, newly termed phrase created by a religious zealot proclaiming doom and gloom for profit, <i>blood moon</i> is a meaningless term.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The End of Days - no matter how the alleged prophets want to spin it - are not upon the world, because <i>blood moons</i> have occurred 62 times already and . . .</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
. . . you're still here and reading my blog!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So, rather than listening to someone trying to create a portent out of a red moon, why not just go outside and enjoy the beauty of the red moon and understand . . . </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
. . . it's happened before, and it will happen again!</div>

One Million Moms - well, not exactly, I think total membership is like 20 moms - has a right to their beliefs, or what I like to refer to as . . . hate and intolerance. They have every right to boycott Honey Maid, just as I have every right to boycott Brawny Paper Towels, Chik-fil-a, and any other number of organizations that feel discrimination to the LGBT Community is totally justified in - what I like to think of as - their narrow little minds.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Yes, being a bit harsh. The thing is: what gives any of these people the right to deny equality, for that is precisely what they are doing, to other people? </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Yes, they like to say they're doing it because their Christians, but . . .</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
. . . sorry, that's not Christianity.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
No where in the Bible does it say . . .</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Thou Shall Deny Equality to those YOU Deem not Equal to Yourself</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Thou Shall Discriminate</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Thou Shall Take the Bible Out of Context to Justify Your Own Narrow Minded Purposes</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Thou Shall Wield the Bible as a Weapon</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But, maybe there's a newer version of the Bible that I know nothing about, that actually embraces such commandments that disrespects, rather than respects, other human beings.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I just don't get it. Everybody deserves EQUALITY!!! Equal Protection Under the Law should not be something a portion of the human population has to fight for, and yet . . . </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
. . . time and again, these battles have played out throughout the centuries of human existence.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Women had to fight for the right to vote, to work, and . . . are still fighting for equal pay.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The Black community had to fight for the right to vote, to marry a white person, to drink at the same water fountain as the white community, and so many other things.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And now, the forefront of the fight, is the LGBT community fighting for equal protection under the law.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Those that don't wish for the LGBT community to have equal protection under the law, consistently use the phrase "traditional marriage" . . .</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Well, <i>Google</i> "traditional marriage" and see what you find out. Go ahead. I'll wait . . . </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
. . . Ah, now you're thinking (well, if you're not, you should be) <i>who knew traditional marriage consisted of polygamy, consensual adultery, and incest?</i> Yes, that's exactly what I thought.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So, when Mike Huckabee stands up and proclaims he's not a hater or a homophobe, but just someone who believes in "traditional marriage", I think to myself . . .</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i>Does Mrs. Huckabee know that her husbands wants to have more than one wife . . . at the same time? Does she know her husband wants her to consent to him having adultery? And does she know . . .</i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<i><br /></i></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Well, hopefully, you get my point. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The point of marriage has changed throughout the centuries of existence. The benefits granted by marriage today are benefits bestowed by . . . man's law, and not God's law. God doesn't mention right of survivorship in the Bible, or that you don't have to pay outrageous inheritance taxes, or the fact that you can't visit a loved one in the hospital (yes, this has changed) if not legally married to them, or . . . so many of the at least 1,100 benefits granted to legally married couples. God said nothing about that in the Bible. These were benefits created by man . . .</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
. . . and denied to members of the LGBT Community.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So, I say, if people want traditional marriage, as vaguely outlined in the Bible, then every single benefit , created by man, currently enjoyed by heterosexual legally married couples should be stripped away. Their marriage should be strictly as God intended . . .</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
. . . with the wife becoming the property of the man, and having no rights whatsoever to his land, his money, or anything. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Ooooooooh, I bet arteries are imploding in the heads of people right about now at the very thought of stripping away these benefits that they believe are granted through them by "traditional marriage", but, in fact, were created by man to make life easier for him and his wife. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Why shouldn't I, as a gay man, have those same rights? Why should I have to worry - well, I don't because I have a loving and supportive family - about crafting a detailed will that covers every possible loophole so that the love of my life can inherit everything I have? Why should I have to worry about me being sick and in the ICU and the hospital saying the love of my life can't sit with me because he's not a) legally my spouse or b) blood related? Why should I, or him, have to pay higher inheritance taxes? </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The simple answer is: we shouldn't!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And yet, there is a portion of this country that believes we should. There is a portion of this country that is so filled with hate - though they will deny they are acting in hatred, or homophobia - that they will fight to their dying breath to deny equality to Frank and me! They will go to court, time and again, with arguments that will not stand up in court, just so Frank and I don't get any of the 1,100 benefits they enjoy as married couples?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Their hate, ignorance, narrow-mindedness and what not, anger me! Heck, they're the reason I'll probably have cirrhosis of the liver one day! Kidding! I don't give them that much thought. Why?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Because they are not worth it! </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And with that, dear readers, you get my many rants all wrapped up in one!!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
Scotthttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00173730225909124769noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-625130581265930111.post-14513042246221281212013-12-27T13:49:00.002-06:002013-12-27T13:49:41.653-06:00Day of Bigotry<div style="text-align: justify;">
So the defenders of Daddy Duck, aka Phil Robertson, are planning a Day of Bigotry at Chik-Fil-A in January 2014! </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Woo-hoo! </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I mean, what better place to host a Day of Bigotry, then at a place that donates hundreds of thousands of dollars towards groups that seek to promote bigotry? It's a win-win situation for bigots: they get to tout their bigoted beliefs and eat chicken with a portion of the money they pay for said chicken going to groups that promote bigotry!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So, when you drive by Chik-Fil-A on a certain day in January, take a good look and see how many of your friends and neighbors you see supporting an <i>alleged </i>bigot and know . . . they're just as much a bigot as he is through their support.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Oh, of course, your friends and neighbors will say "Oh, we're not bigots, we're just supporting his first amendment rights and Christianity!" Yes, I know, your friends and neighbors are as deluded as Sarah Palin. That's right, this issue isn't about his first amendment rights being trampled (they weren't, btw) nor is it about him, as an alleged Christian wielding the Bible as a weapon. It is about his hate filled and racist (i.e., bigoted) comments. That, dear readers, is what people are defending and . . .</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
. . . probably 80% of them haven't even read his comments (uh, Sarah Palin, please step to the front of the class). </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And yet, a Day of Bigotry is being planned at Chik-Fil-A. Oh, the defenders are calling it something different, because why would they want to admit they're defending an <i>alleged</i> (sorry, have to use that word for legal protection) bigot? </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Now, back to your regular programming . . .</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Oh, wait, since I've finally weighed in the issue, keep reading for just a bit.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Daddy Duck has every right to spout his beliefs - bigoted/racist/hateful/etc. His defenders, even in full on ignorance, have every right to defend him and make up lies that his first amendment rights were being trampled and his Christianity was being attacked (none of which happened). This is America - the land of the free, the brave, the stupid who have no idea why they're defending a bigot, and all that jazz! You're allowed to say whatever you want and then bitch/moan/whine/whatnot when people call you out on your bigotry. And, in this day in age, you can start a Facebook page in support of <i>alleged</i> bigot that has over one million bigoted followers that think they're not bigots when really they are bigots! </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Amen, Sistah!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>

Dear Mr. Romney,</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
There's a simple reason I can't vote for you in the upcoming Presidential election: you only believe in equality for heterosexuals.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It's sad, that in this day and age, inequality still exists. It's sad that a man who wants to run our country, does not believe in equality for all citizens of the United States of America. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
What's even worse is that you don't believe that I, as a gay man, have the right to sit beside my partner in the hospital should he be confined to ICU for some - heaven forbid - life threatening illness. You feel that only heterosexuals should have that <i>privilege</i> as you so in-eloquently put it.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And you want to run our country? </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The problem with your allegedly - have to use that word for legal reasons apparently - thinking is: people like you, men in power, shape the beliefs of others. When you - on the chance that a very hot place freezes over and you get elected President - strip away my right to sit at, again, heaven forbid, partner's side in the ICU, to comfort him, perhaps with my presence only, as you would do your wife in a similar situation - you encourage others to do the same. With your act of bullying, for that is what stripping away my right would be, you encourage others to do the same. You encourage people to discriminate against me, against those like me, and yet . . .</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
. . . you obviously don't have a problem sleeping at night.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
You should have a problem sleeping at night. You should be ashamed of even considering stripping away such a right - and it is a right, Mr. Romney, not a <i>privilege</i>! </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Love knows no boundaries. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I have been with my partner for 18 years. My love for him is as strong, or most likely stronger, than the love you have for your wife. My love is not diminished by men, or women, like you, that couch their hate with taken out of context text from the Bible. My love is not diminished by the laws that people like you try to pass in order to protect <i>traditional </i>marriage, or at least that's what you tell yourselves to ease your consciences. In fact, all the laws you and like minded individuals pass are nothing more than bullying, a soapbox to stand up and say that because you were born heterosexual, you have more rights than me, or any other members of the GLBT community.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I hate to break the news to you, Mr. Romney, but, you're not superior to me or anybody else on this planet. You're not better than me because you were born heterosexual. Your love for your wife isn't any greater than my love for my partner . . . because you were born heterosexual. You don't deserve anything differently out of this life than I do . . . because you were born heterosexual.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Yes, I know, you believe that because you were born heterosexual you have the right to bully me, to deny me equality, and to - again, on the off chance a very hot place freezes over and you are elected President - strip away my right to sit beside my partner if, heaven forbid, something bad happens to him and he's in the ICU! You believe, deep in your heart, that discrimination against non-heterosexuals is okay, fine and dandy, and all that jazz.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I'm here to tell you that it is not okay, fine and dandy, and all that jazz. It is wrong on so many levels and the fact that you can't see the wrongness, that you believe you are totally right, is another reason I can't vote for you this election.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Sincerely,</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

No rants today, just some idle thoughts.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I love Facebook. It has allowed me to reconnect with my cousins, which is a great thing. It allows me glimpses into their lives, and them glimpses into mine, and does the thing with all my myriad Facebook friends, some of whom I have met, and some of whom I have yet to meet, but have come to know quite well through our interaction in the blogsphere and on Facebook. Yes, I know, a run-on sentence. My English professors would be horrified. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Anyhow, today, for some odd reason, I searched for someone from high school. I don't know why, just did. Then, scrolled through all their friends to see how many people from high school I might still recognize. Quite a few, just in case you were wondering. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Then, as often happens in the chaotic spaces of my grey matter, I wondered . . . why am I not FB friends with anyone from high school?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The easy answer: I left Delaware, and all my high school friends, 29 years ago and went on with my life.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The second easy answer: I was only close friends with a very few people in high school. I lost touch with many of them years ago.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The third easy answer: If I wasn't friends with them in high school, why would I be friends with them now?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I think that's the main answer to my question. I've never been in a clique, or part of the popular crowd. I was more on the sidelines of life throughout school as I navigated the narrow-waters of my genetics, i.e., coming to terms with the fact I was gay.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
If you haven't figured it out yet: some humans are downright cruel, and kids more so from the adults from which they learned such cruelty. So, obviously, if I knew I was gay in high school, other kids did too, and, well, kids are cruel. So, I stayed to the sidelines, with my little group of friends, and went on about my life.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Years ago, when I first created a Facebook account, a woman I went to high school with contacted me and wanted to be friends. I ignored her request. I wasn't friends with her in high school, so why bother was/is my attitude. Then, a friend I was close with contacted me. We messaged back and forth, I told her I was gay . . . and pretty much never heard from her again. Go figure!!! </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
You see, being gay is how I was born and I choose not to associate with people who have a problem with me being gay. It's just how I roll.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Still, I find it odd that I haven't befriended on Facebook a single friend from high school. Okay, wait, I am friends with one friend from high school, but, my brother married her sister, so we have had contact throughout the years. Ha! Other than that, I haven't "liked" the high school - Brandywine High School, Wilmington, Delaware (DE) - page, or sent friend requests. Heck, my class, which is coming up on 30 years next June, doesn't even have it's own page for the reunion . . . not that I would go.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
You see, I think I'm content with my life and the friends I have in my life. The past is the past. Yeah, it was neat looking at pictures of people I used to know, but that's enough for me. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Perhaps - and as you can tell, I'm sort of rambling through my thoughts in a disjointed fashion - a part of me that was that guy in high school, afraid of rejection, tired of being made fun of because I fell outside the norm of what people considered the norm, will always wonder if people from high school who are sending friend requests are only sending them to confirm what they suspected in high school: is Scott gay?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Well, he is, proud of it, and has been in a committed relationship for the last 18 years. My friends and family love Frank. He's part of me, and he's part of my family. He even came to my family reunion this past June. Everybody loved him. In fact, my cousins were quite insistent on him coming to the reunion since he is part of the family.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And there, you see, is probably why I don't friend people from high school: my life is complete enough and those around me love me for me, and love Frank because he is a part of my life.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So, if you've stuck with this post long enough, you'll see there really wasn't a point to it, except for me to ramble on and on as I resolved some things in my mind. High School was great, but it was 29 years ago, and the Scott who existed then has turned into a person more comfortable with himself, and content with the life he has created for himself.</div>

So Chik-Fil-A feels put upon by the gay community and their supporters. They don't understand the furor over the statements of the president of their company. They - allegedly - don't see anything wrong with denying equality to people they - allegedly - consider <i>different</i>.<br />
<br />
Neither did Adolf Hitler . . . and everybody knows how that turned out.<br />
<br />
To deny equality - PERIOD - to anybody is WRONG! There is no argument to be had for denying somebody equal rights/protection under the law.<br />
<br />
NONE!<br />
<br />
Still, many people in this country, and around the world, don't have a problem claiming that they are more deserving of equal rights than their brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, parents, friends, children, whatever who happen to - by the grace of God - been born gay (this term is inclusive of gays, lesbians, bisexual, and transgendered people).<br />
<br />
Now, I guarantee you, if you told any of these people, because say, they had blue eyes and brown hair, that they were unable to marry, say, a person with blonde hair and green eyes . . . they'd have a MAJOR problem with that statement. I mean, it's not their fault they were born with blue eyes and brown hair. That's genetics, after all. It's not like it's a choice - like their religious preference or political preference or the fact that they shop at Krogers versus Publix. It's genetics.<br />
<br />
Yes, I know, the allegedly narrow-minded people in the world believe that homosexuality is a choice. It isn't. It's how I - and all gay people - were born. God made us this way, even though the faux Christians out there would like to conveniently forget that fact.<br />
<br />
Still, these same people don't have a problem saying - like Hitler before them - I'm better than all the gays in the world. I'm heterosexual. I deserve to pay less taxes since I can legally get married. I deserve - though this has been rectified - to sit at the hospital bedside of the person I love more than anything else in this life . . . as long as I'm a heterosexual. I'm heterosexual, so equality isn't an issue for me or mine!<br />
<br />
And these same people, actually don't realize the hatred they are spouting toward other human beings. They don't have a problem with attacking a group of people because, in their narrow-eyed view, they are <i>different</i>!<br />
<br />
Well, for the record, yes I am different. I'm not like everybody else out there. I'm an individual. I'm the way God made me.<br />
<br />
I don't hate the narrow-minded in this world. I just feel sorry for them that they can't see that denying equality is wrong, that supporting organizations that actively seek to deny equality to citizens is wrong.<br />
<br />
ENOUGH! SAID!!<br />

<br />
I hate politics.<br />
<br />
I hate that the politicians will <em>allegedly</em> lie, cheat, and steal . . . in order to get elected.<br />
<br />
I hate that they are so willing to toss - <em>allegedly</em> - their morals/ethics aside just to get a vote!<br />
<br />
Seriously, they say what they need to say to the people they want to vote for them, and, for the most part, never meaning a word of it.<br />
<br />
Newt promises a colony on the moon . . . when speaking to people who worked for NASA, and hope to again. Yeah, lets funnel billions of dollars into the space program . . . when the deficit is already out of control. Makes sense . . . if you're trying to get elected President!<br />
<br />
Mitt Romney flips-flops more than a fish out of water. Seriously.<br />
<br />
And, these <em>allegedly</em> intelligent individuals don't see a problem in denying equal rights. Well, then again, neither did Hitler . . . and we all know how that one turned out.<br />
<br />
So my wish is that . . . all politicians lose their voices! That silence reigns supreme and that the truth of the lies and hypocrisy of every single politician, every single person who ever decides to run for office, no matter the political affiliation, is evident to every single person on the face of the earth!<br />
<br />
Yeah, a bit extreme, but . . .<br />
<br />
. . . I'm tried of the BS they all spout, the negativity, and everything else associated with politics.<br />
<br />
Our elected officials fail, on a daily basis, to do the job they were elected to do: serve the best interest of "WE" the people!!! Instead, they serve the best interests of the people lining - <em>allegedly</em> - their pockets with campaign contributions, i.e., blood money. The politicians we have elected aren't doing their job. The politicians we elected are getting rich by insider trading. Oh, it's currently legal, and should have been made illegal decades ago, but . . .<br />
<br />
. . . why would said politicians make something illegal that is making them all wealthy?<br />
<br />
They wouldn't. <br />
<br />
Just as they will never do the job they were truly elected to do!<br />
<br />
It's time our Senate/Congress stopped acting like a bunch of toddlers, and began acting like adults. Just sayin' . . .<br />
