They seek to preserve the sanctity of marriage.

He stripped equality from those he deemed not pure enough.

They seek to deny equality to those they deem not pure enough.

In the end, no matter the denials from them, they are travelling down a similar path that led a man to kill millions of people all in the name of purity.
