Dear Uninformed Faux Christians -

Religious Freedom is the right to practice your religion. End of Story! Period!

Religious Freedom does not give you the right to discriminate. Your personal beliefs give you that ability, not your religion. 

Nowhere in the Bible does it state "thou shall discriminate" or "thou shall pick and choose to follow only the Biblical passages that you use to justify your discrimination". Those aren't parts of the Bible. 

The fact that you feel comfortable taking the Bible out of context to justify your discrimination is quite sad. 

Freedom of Religion, as defined by the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States means a person has the right to "practice his or her own religion, or no religion at all". The Free Exercise Clause of the First Amendment grants the right to "worship or not as you choose". 

Nowhere, not nowhere, no way, no how, in any way, shape or form and all that jazz, does the First Amendment state you can openly discriminate against an individual because of your religious beliefs.

As noted above, the Bible does not state THOU SHALL DISCRIMINATE! It does state THOU SHALL NOT JUDGE, LEST YE BE JUDGED and LOVE THY NEIGHBOR.

When you openly discriminate because of a false understanding of the words religious freedom, you are judging and you are not loving thy neighbor. And yes, whether you know it or not, you probably have a gay neighbor.

So, when you, perhaps as a county clerk in say, well, maybe . . . Kentucky, claim that issuing a marriage license to a same-sex couple goes against your religious beliefs, well, that's an outright lie. It goes against your personal beliefs.

Perhaps you should spend some time understanding the difference between personal and religious beliefs before standing up and proclaiming that doing your job is against your religious beliefs.

On that note, divorce is mentioned in the Bible way more often than same-sex relations. Have you, oh say, said county clerk, in say, KY, or perhaps, a judge in say, well, maybe, let's see, OH, ever issued a marriage license to a divorced person and/or performed a marriage ceremony to a divorced person? Shouldn't that be against your religious beliefs? Why, yes, it should! I thought I'd answer the question for you since you're obviously having a hard time with understanding things right now!

So, dear, uninformed, faux Christians . . . please say it like it is, not how you wish it to be. Stand up, be proud, and be courageous and say: I personally don't believe in same-sex marriage and it has absolutely nothing to do with my freedom of religion, only with my own personal bias. Be proud when you state that you feel you're a superior person because you were born heterosexual rather than homosexual - btw, no choice, all genetics, not matter what you think - and feel that the equal protection clause should only apply to heterosexuals. Shout it from the mountaintops when you declare that only certain people deserve equal protection under the law. Do not hide behind religious freedom and use the Bible out of context to justify your contempt for your friends, neighbors, family, people you meet on the street or interact with on a daily basis. 

You have an absolute right to your opinions and personal beliefs. You have an absolute right to declare those opinions and personal beliefs. But the key here is personal and not religious!

So, next time, dear faux Christian, you want to use your religion not to perform your job or deny equal protection under the law to citizens of the United States of America, please do so honestly without claiming religion has anything to do with it . . . because it doesn't!

Chik-Fil-A

So Chik-Fil-A feels put upon by the gay community and their supporters. They don't understand the furor over the statements of the president of their company. They - allegedly - don't see anything wrong with denying equality to people they - allegedly - consider different.

Neither did Adolf Hitler . . . and everybody knows how that turned out.

To deny equality - PERIOD - to anybody is WRONG! There is no argument to be had for denying somebody equal rights/protection under the law.

NONE!

Still, many people in this country, and around the world, don't have a problem claiming that they are more deserving of equal rights than their brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, parents, friends, children, whatever who happen to - by the grace of God - been born gay (this term is inclusive of gays, lesbians, bisexual, and transgendered people).

Now, I guarantee you, if you told any of these people, because say, they had blue eyes and brown hair, that they were unable to marry, say, a person with blonde hair and green eyes . . . they'd have a MAJOR problem with that statement. I mean, it's not their fault they were born with blue eyes and brown hair. That's genetics, after all. It's not like it's a choice - like their religious preference or political preference or the fact that they shop at Krogers versus Publix. It's genetics.

Yes, I know, the allegedly narrow-minded people in the world believe that homosexuality is a choice. It isn't. It's how I - and all gay people - were born. God made us this way, even though the faux Christians out there would like to conveniently forget that fact.

Still, these same people don't have a problem saying - like Hitler before them - I'm better than all the gays in the world. I'm heterosexual. I deserve to pay less taxes since I can legally get married. I deserve - though this has been rectified - to sit at the hospital bedside of the person I love more than anything else in this life . . . as long as I'm a heterosexual. I'm heterosexual, so equality isn't an issue for me or mine!

And these same people, actually don't realize the hatred they are spouting toward other human beings. They don't have a problem with attacking a group of people because, in their narrow-eyed view, they are different!

Well, for the record, yes I am different. I'm not like everybody else out there. I'm an individual. I'm the way God made me.

I don't hate the narrow-minded in this world. I just feel sorry for them that they can't see that denying equality is wrong, that supporting organizations that actively seek to deny equality to citizens is wrong.

ENOUGH! SAID!!

Homosexual Lifestyle . . . NOT!

According to The Advocate General Mills allegedly dropped its ad/sponsorship of the show Pretty Little Liars because one of the characters is a lesbian. General Mills disputes this allegation. Uh-huh!

But . . . the reason General Mills even knew a character was a lesbian is because that fun little group known as the Florida Family Association (i.e., alleged hate group . . . at least in my opinion) sent the following message to General Mills that the "shows audience of primarily 12 - 18 year old girls was being sent a message that reinforces and legitimizes this homosexual lifestyle in a manner that could affect these young girls' sexual identity for a lifetime.

Uh-huh!

First, dear Florida Family Association, there is no such thing as a homosexual lifestyle, because, if there is, well, then, there's such a thing as a heterosexual lifestyle which I'm 100% POSITIVE you and the other allegedly narrow-minded people that make up the Florida Family Association would vehemently deny.

Homosexuality, like heterosexuality, is a part of a person's genetic make-up. You're born hetero or homo. Nobody chooses this option. God chose it for the person at the moment the sperm met the egg and did the little happy dance that fertilized the egg and created life!

Oh, and just in case you're wondering (and listening to Michelle Bachmann), you can't cure homosexuality, any more than you could cure heterosexuality. It's never gonna happen. Born Gay. Die Gay! Born Straight. Die Straight. It's the facts of life people!

Sarah Speaks . . .

. . . and doesn't say anything useful. Big Surprise!

So, in the midst of tumbling stocks, and a downgrade by a credit agency, Sarah Palin opens mouth, and inserts foot . . . again: “Be wary of the efforts President Obama makes to ‘fix’ the debt problem,” she said. “The more he tries to ‘fix’ things, the worse they get.”

Then, not to outdo herself, she sticks her other foot in her mouth:
“How shamelessly cynical and dishonest must one be to blame this inevitable downgrade on the very people who have been shouting all along ‘stop spending?’” This comment was in response to people pointing the finger at the Tea Party Movement.

Of course, it's okay to blame the president, the Democrats, and anybody else who isn't part of the Tea Party Movement, but shamey-shamey-shamey if anyone dares place blame on the Tea Party!

Seriously, Sarah, get a life.

The reason our county is in the shape it is in, is because we have an inept government not willing to work together. We have a government - and trust me, any members of the Tea Party are no different - who wants to broker deals, i.e., I'll agree to this to fix the current crisis, if you'll agree to that, rather than actually deal with the crisis at hand: a rising, unmanageable debt brought about by a series of Presidents, both Democratic and Republican, throughout the years, and by a Senate/Congress too busy playing party politics to actual do the jobs they were elected to do.

So, dear Sarah, instead of acting immature, pointing your finger, and saying I told you so, why not try being an adult for a change and actually offering non-party biased solutions. Geesh!

Oh, and dear Sarah is also encouraging people with this statement: "Please get engaged in 2012 electoral politicians and support experienced, vetted, pro-free market fiscal conservatives."

Oh, and conservatives will be the downfall of this country. Conservatives are already doing their best to deny equality to citizens of the United States. Do we really want such allegedly narrow-minded people gaining power in this country?

Frivolous

So, Michelle Bachmann believes that gay marriage is a frivolous matter. So, in a logical line of thinking, if gay marriage is frivolous, than obviously so is equality. Isn't it great that we have someone running for President that doesn't believe in one of the founding principals of this country? Yeah, sarcasm in case you missed it.

Seriously, people, all the GLBT community wants is the same rights heterosexuals want: equality. We want equal treatment under the law.

I want equal treatment under the law.

Michelle Bachmann - and the rest of the GOP hopefuls - aren't out for providing equal treatment under the law to all citizens of the United States. The only people they're concerned with are the narrow-minded individuals out to deny equality to all citizens of the United States.

It is sad to see that these alleged Christians are, well, so allegedly un-Christian like.

Illogical

So, Shawn Akers, the Public Policy Analyst for the anti-gay (i.e., alleged hate group) organization Liberty Counsel believes that "California's new LGBT-inclusive history law represents bullying of the worst kind". Go here for the full article.

Seriously, it's okay to revise history to make certain events not happen, but it's not okay to include events that wouldn't have happened if not for members of the LGBT?? Yeah, illogical thinking of the allegedly (sorry, have to use that word for legal purposes) narrow-minded strikes again.

It simply amazes me how certain people like to twist things to defend their allegedly inane point of view.

Oh, btw, a member of this same group stated that LGBT youth commit suicide because they "know what they are doing is unnatural, is wrong, is immoral".

LGBT youth commit suicide because of people who join these alleged hate groups and propel bullying to an all time new level.

Destruction of the Amercian Family

According to GOP hopeful Rick Santorum, he believes that the passage of equality laws to allow gays to marry is 'destroying the American family'.

I say, heterosexuals have been destroying the American family. Why not give the homosexuals a chance to fix them?

Seriously, the lengths allegedly intelligent - big emphasis on allegedly - people will go to in order to defend their stance for inequality is absolutely amazing.

I say we start taking away rights to these people, and then see their response.

So, Michelle Bachmann - women cannot run for President, oh, and you can't vote any longer. What's your response to that? Huh?

Rick Santorum - Republicans are no longer considered citizens of the United States of America. What do you think of that? Huh?

Yes, I know, but . . . the people attempting, and succeeding in some cases to deny equality to fellow human beings, to take an attitude that they're better than the gays/lesbians fighting for equality, is absolutely ludicrous.

In the Eyes of God . . .

. . . , and from my viewpoint, you don’t need a piece of paper to be married.

In the eyes of God, and from my viewpoint, you need your love and commitment for one another.

The piece of paper . . . well, that’s man’s law people, not God’s law. The only thing that piece of paper truly does is guarantee a tax break. Yeah, big whoop.

So, what everyone - well, not everyone, only the narrow minded stuck in the dark ages people -  is truly fighting for as they deny equality to fellow human beings is, yeah, you got it, a tax break. Woo-hoo! Boy, puts things in perspective doesn’t it?

Seriously, people, what's the big deal? I've been with my partner for 17 years and we're probably more married than most heterosexual couples out there. Heck, we have a longer relationship - i.e., marriage - than most heterosexual couples out there.

We love each other, we're committed to each other, we've shared the ups/downs of this crazy life together, experienced joy and sorrow, life and death, and so many other things . . . and we're still together. We are, well, married, no matter what the narrow-minded, alleged Hitlerites have to say about it.
